A planning application to build sheltered accommodation on the same site as a school has provoked more than 200 objections.
Campaigners protested on Saturday outside the proposed site in the Professional Centre, Franciscan Road, Tooting, ahead of a planning meeting taking place next week.
Viridian Housing wants to knock down parts of the building to make way for a four-storey 45-apartment extra-care block.
Planning permission has already been granted to build a primary school on the site.
Campaigners believe the care block will limit play space for students and block light.
